The whole inventory
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| sess | pojebtesa.life | Keeps you signed in while you use the web client | End of session |
| csrf | pojebtesa.life | Blocks cross-site request forgery on the sign-in form | End of session |
That is the complete list. Both are first-party, both are strictly necessary to deliver a service you have asked for, and both are therefore exempt from the consent requirement in Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. Neither is set until you sign in.
What is deliberately absent
- No analytics of any kind — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no self-hosted equivalent, no server-side page counting tied to you.
- No advertising or retargeting identifiers, no conversion pixels, no social media buttons.
- No third-party cookies. No cross-site tracking. No fingerprinting through canvas, fonts or device characteristics.
- No content delivery network in front of the site, so no third party sees who requests these pages.
The only external requests this site makes are to Google Fonts — the stylesheet from fonts.googleapis.com, the font files from fonts.gstatic.com — for three typefaces: Cinzel, Cormorant Garamond and JetBrains Mono. Your browser's IP address is visible to those requests, and Google LLC is a US company, so this is the single third-country contact anywhere on the site. If you would rather it were not, block it — the pages fall back to system typefaces and remain fully legible. We are working on self-hosting the fonts to remove even this.
Other local storage
The Matrix web client stores your encryption keys and session state in your browser's local storage on your own device. This is not a cookie, is never transmitted to us, and is what makes end-to-end encryption possible at all. Clearing it signs you out and, if you have no recovery phrase, permanently costs you access to your message history.
Controlling this yourself
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies for a given site, usually under privacy or site settings. Blocking the two named above prevents you signing in; nothing else on this site depends on them. Because we set no optional cookies, we offer no preference centre — there would be nothing in it.
